Artist's Bio :: Ken Catterton

A professional career as an architect in Washington D.C. was truly exciting. Starting my own firm, designing projects for the Federal Government, Fortune Five Hundred corporations, and numerous professional organizations was both gratifying and rewarding. But that was in another lifetime. Painting has provided an opportunity for expression of thoughts and feelings which were difficult to fully develop through architecture. This is a new world of motion, light and color into which I have immersed myself and I’m loving every moment of it. Traveling through Mexico several times in recent years has provided an ample supply of interesting faces and places as subjects for both oil and acrylic paintings. As a resident of Rehoboth Beach, I’ve found countless subjects reflecting both place and time at our beaches and parks. The opportunities are inexhaustible.

As a member of the Rehoboth Art League, I have participated in both classes and exhibitions. I am the recipient of the 2008 Village Improvement Association’s Local Artist Award presented at the 70th Annual Member’s Fine Arts Exhibition. I have exhibited at the Wilmington University where I continue to participate in a Studio under the leadership of Linda Minkowski, an artist who has been recognized both locally and regionally. I am also a founding member of a local artist group, the Delaware Shore Artists that continues to be a great source of friendships, critiques and inspiration.
